The numbers are in and Deadline is reporting that on-location filming in greater Los Angeles during 2018 was up over the year before. According to Film L.A., 2018 shows a massive 12.2 percent spike in local feature film production, thanks in large part to Quentin Tarantino’s epic Once Upon A Time In Hollywood shoot. As we’ve documented (here and here), the production on Tarantino’s newest has worked extensively to recreate vintage Los Angeles, with the film’s excellent production designers and art department working tirelessly to turn back the clock to psychedelic 1969.
Tarantino’s 9th film, which has been described as a Pulp Fiction-esque ensemble piece set in Los Angeles during the tumultuous summer of 1969, is slated to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
