Deadline is reporting today that casting for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is heating up with key supporting roles in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Pulp Fiction-esque ensemble going to Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch, Nicholas Hammond, Keith Jefferson, Clifton Collins Jr, and Luke Perry. The story is set in Los Angeles during the tumultuous summer of 1969, with a former western tv star (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double (Brad Pitt) struggling to come to terms with a Hollywood that doesn’t exist anymore.
Damian Lewis is slated to play Hollywood icon and Tarantino fave Steve McQueen, Dakota Fanning will play Charles Manson acolyte and Gerald Ford’s would-be assassin Squeaky Fromme, Emile Hirsch will be celebrity hairstylist and Manson Family victim Jay Sebring, and Nicholas Hammond will play director & actor Sam Wanamaker. Keith Jefferson, who also appeared in Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight, is cast as Land Pirate Keith, Clifton Collins will be Ernesto The Mexican Vaquero, and Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry will play Scotty Lancer. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is slated to come to theaters on August 9th, 2019.
