There’s big news this week for Quentin Tarantino’s newest as his ninth film gets a title and a co-star. As Variety reports, Brad Pitt has signed on to join his Inglourious Basterds director’s new film, which is slated to hit theaters on August 9, 2019 with the Sergio Leone-inspired title Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. The film has been described as a Pulp Fiction-esque ensemble piece set in Los Angeles during the tumultuous summer of 1969, with Leonardo DiCaprio playing the part of a former western TV star and Pitt his longtime stunt double. In a statement, Tarantino said “I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was 7 years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A., and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt.”
