Ever since we got the first peek at Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt looking effortless cool in vintage attire for Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, fans have been eagerly theorizing about the characters the pair would play, only escalating with the release of the film’s first trailer. Now talking with USA Today, the director is dropping some new hints about DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton, a popular cowboy tv star struggling to transition to the big screen, and his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth, played by Pitt. Tarantino calls Dalton “a man full of inner turmoil and self-pity for not being in a better position, career-wise. But as is Rick’s way, he blames everybody but himself,” while describing Booth as one of the deadliest men alive: “He could kill you with a spoon, a piece of paper or a business card. Consequently, he is a rather Zen dude who is troubled by very little.” We can’t wait to find out more when Tarantino’s 9th film, which has been described as a Pulp Fiction-esque ensemble piece set in Los Angeles during the tumultuous summer of 1969, hits theaters on July 26, 2019.
