The most powerfully thrilling underworld melodrama of all! Tod Browning remakes his 1920 crime film, this time with Edward G. Robinson as the ruthless gang boss trying to prevent a rival’s bank robbery on his turf. Mary Nolan and Owen Moore co-star. We will be screening the rarely seen silent release version (with dialogue intertitles) – prepared for theaters that had not yet switched over to sound – of Browning’s early talkie.

Program change: Please note that our previously announced screening of Outside the Law (1920) has been cancelled due to a print-related issue, and is being replaced by Outside the Law (1930), Tod Browning’s remake of his earlier film.
