Double Feature
The Lost Man
Academy Award-winner Sidney Poitier stars in this gripping drama of street-style crime and justice. The secretive leader of a Black militant group, Jason Higgs (Poitier) plots a dangerous payroll robbery; the money is marked for a mysterious organization that benefits the children of jailed black men. When the heist goes horribly wrong, Higgs and his men go on the run, with the entire Philadelphia police forced following their every move. Faced with betrayal on the streets of their own neighborhood, they turn to a white social worker for help, crossing the color lines in a last-ditch attempt at saving their lives. Paul Winfield (Cliffhanger, Mars Attacks!) and Richard Dysart (Wall Street, Mask and the TV series L.A. Law) also star with music by the award-winning composer Quincy Jones. (Universal)
