A newspaper reporter in San Diego is assigned to investigate the city’s seedy waterfront and uncover the truth behind rumors of human trafficking. But he soon becomes romantically entangled with the daughter of the man he’s investigating. Ben Lyon & Claudette Colbert star in a stirring pre-code romantic drama. Lyon would later become a studio exec at 20th Century Fox, where he would screen test a young Norma Jeane Dougherty and sign her to her first studio contract, rebranding her as Marilyn Monroe.
