Rock Around the Clock

When a frustrated big band promoter and musician (Johnny Johnston and Henry Slate) decide to stay overnight in a small town on their way to New York, they discover a fun-loving group of kids moving to a new kind of beat they call rock ‘n’ roll! It’s the kind of new sound they’ve been looking for and these guys will do whatever it takes to bring it to the rest of the world. Rock Around the Clock is the rock ‘n’ roll adventure that started it all! Featuring hit music and performances by Bill Haley & His Comets (“See You Later Alligator,” “Razzle Dazzle”) and The Platters (“The Great Pretender,” “Only You”)! So stick around Daddy-O, because this rock’n’ roll flick will get you on your feet again. (Sony Pictures)

Ring-A-Ding Rhythm

It’s got that mad jazz beat! When the town’s mayor (Felix Felton) forces a teenage jazz hangout to discontinue the use of its TV and jukebox, Helen (Helen Shapiro) and Craig (Craig Douglas) set up a show to make jazz acceptable to the townspeople. Enlisting the talents of Del Shannon, The Dukes of Dixieland, Gary (U.S.) Bonds and Chubby Checker himself, Helen and Craig think they’ve got a winning strategy. The recalcitrant mayor, however, has his own plans and throws several obstacles in their way. Directed by Richard Lester (A Hard Day’s Night), Ring-A-Ding Rhythm is a fun, lively romp filled with swinging tunes throughout! (Sony Pictures)
