Yojimbo

The heavily-influential Akira Kurosawa arthouse crowdpleaser Yojimbo opens with the great Toshiro Mifune as a nameless ronin arriving in a small village overrun by feuding gangs. Hired as a bodyguard for both sides, he uses his wits (and his sword) to carefully manipulate the situation to his own advantage.
