X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes

Legendary low budget filmmaker Roger Corman and Academy Award winning actor Ray Milland team up for the cautionary sci-fi tale X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes. In the film, Milland plays Dr. James Xavier, a noted scientist developing an eye drop that will allow man to use the full spectrum of vision. To secure continued funding, he experiments on himself, with unintended consequences. When the doctor uses his newfound X-ray abilities for prurient reasons, he soon realizes that he can’t control the power, leaving death and destruction in his wake. With noteworthy visual effects to express the aforementioned visions, a game performance by acclaimed leading man Milland and a surprisingly effective supporting turn by a young Don Rickles as a hustler trying to capitalize on the doctor’s unique talents, X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes is one of American International Pictures and Corman’s best science fiction film achievements.
