Danny DeVito and Billy Crystal star in a black comedy riff on Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train! Crystal plays a newly divorced sad sack bitter that his ex-wife stole his novel and turned it into her own bestseller. DeVito is the long-suffering momma’s boy eager to get out from his mother’s thumb. But when one suggests trading murders as the perfect alibi, the foul play will spin hilariously out of control. DeVito directs his first theatrical feature film, while director of photography Barry Sonnenfeld adds a stylish & energetic verve to the proceedings (the same year he also helmed Raising Arizona). Plus, Anne Ramsey is unforgettable as DeVito’s domineering mother.
