Neil LaBute’s ill-fated remake of The Wicker Man is a hoot-and-a-half, a modern camp classic that might be totally risible if it just weren’t so damn fun. Nicolas Cage dials it to 11, swinging for the fences as an eccentric policeman who travels to a small island to investigate the disappearance of a young girl. But there he discovers a larger conspiracy, tries to avoid bees, wears a bear costume, punches a woman in the face and screams memorable lines like “HOW’D IT GET BURNED? HOW’D IT GET BURNED?!”
