The Take (1974)

British exploitation director Robert Hartford-Davis (School for Unclaimed Girls) hopped across the pond to direct this offbeat pulp thriller. Crime fighter Billy Dee Williams is summoned to sunbaked New Mexico to help their exasperated police chief (Eddie Albert) clean up corruption. But no sooner than landing and he’s already on The Take with the local crime kingpin (Vic Morrow). Can this brother with a badge play it both ways and win? Frankie Avalon appears memorably in a small role as a loudmouth hood.
