Joe Grant (Ralph Bellamy), a wealthy rancher, hires four adventurers to rescue his wife Maria (Claudia Cardinale) from the notorious Mexican outlaw, Jesus Raza (Jack Palance). The hired hands, Dolworth, Fardan, Erhengard, and Jake are all experts in their respective fields such as weapons and explosives. The four men pursue the bandits into Mexico with the intention to kill Raza, but as they hone in on the their target, they find a complicated link between Raza, Grant, and Maria.
