The Monster of London City

Germany’s CCC Films returns with another krimi installment adapted from the works of Bryan Edgar Wallace. A play about Jack the Ripper is a big hit in London’s West End. Coincidentally a string of murders erupts, imitating the Ripper’s gruesome methods. Are the killings the work of an overenthusiastic fan of the play? Or is someone from the production involved? Starring Marianne Koch (whose most famous film appearance remains Sergio Leone’s A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS). Small-time Producers Releasing Organization unleashed this in American theaters in 1967, paired on a double bill with another well-known 1964 krimi, THE PHANTOM OF SOHO.
