It’s 22 years later, and Norman Bates is coming home. Declared mentally sound after two decades in a mental institution, a notorious killer is released back into the world against the protests of his victims’ families. But returning to the Bates Motel and the scene of his grisly crimes will have him questioning his own sanity, as he starts to receive mysterious notes and phone calls from his long-dead mother. Anthony Perkins reprises his most famous role to startling effect in this exquisitely twisted psycho slasher directed by genre master / Hitchcock devotee Richard Franklin (Patrick, Roadgames) that features a clever script from Tom Holland (Fright Night) and moody cinematography by Dean Cundey (Halloween, The Thing).
