Whoopi Goldberg is a foreign exchange trader at a bank, who gets in over her head in an international spy game with lethal consequences, in Penny Marshall’s Jumpin’ Jack Flash. Her Terry strikes up an online conversation with a British spy named Jack, who is stuck behind enemy lines in Russia. She tries to find help for him, but is met at every turn by roadblocks and enemy agents, forcing her to engage in multiple acts of derring-do in order to survive. She does all she can to try to save her newfound secret agent pal before it’s too late, but will it be enough? Goldberg followed up her Oscar nominated dramatic supporting role in The Color Purple with this hilarious starring turn. She is let loose by director Marshall to unleash all of her plentiful comedic talents and is aided by a a game supporting cast, including Carol Kane, Jon Lovitz and Annie Potts.
