When the duplicitous Jack the Ripper slices open his prostitute victims, he’s interested in more than just their throats, in this bloody sexploitation take on the infamous London serial killer. Fanzine hero director Jesus Franco presents a Freudian “Ripper”, whose savagery is fueled by haunted memories of his prostitute mother. When a frustrated Inspector Selby (Andreas Mannkopff) can’t seem to make any headway in the case, his ballet dancing girlfriend (played by Charlie Chaplin’s daughter Josephine Chaplin) poses as a street walker in order to help catch the killer. Klaus Kinski is perfectly cast as the charitable doctor by day, and dismembering madman by night – with eyes that were made for the role.
