A melodrama via murder mystery, High Heels follows a mother (Marisa Paredes), a daughter (Victoria Abril), and the dead lover in between them. Pedro Almodóvar’s cheerfully tongue-in-cheek familial dramedy features the writer-director’s trademark colorful style & high-spirited flourishes, plus tour-de-force performances from the two leads.
