Fright Night

When Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale) discovers that his new next door neighbor is a vampire (a terrific, sexy Chris Sarandon), he’ll have to convince a washed-up tv host (Roddy McDowall) to help put a stake through the bloodsucker’s heart. Perfectly balanced between humor and horror, Tom Holland’s Fright Night proves there are some very good reasons to be afraid of the dark.

“McDowall’s performance is wickedly funny, and he must have enjoyed it, chewing the scenery on his horror-movie program and then chewing real scenery down in the vampire’s basement.” – Roger Ebert
