You will be hooked from the very start of the film: a movie within a movie called “Monsters From Beyond,” eleven year old Victor Frankenstein’s Super 8 film starring his beloved pet dog Sparky as Sparkysaurus! Thought a science experiment utilizing the power of lightning, Victor brings Sparky back to life following a car accident in Tim Burton’s stop-motion animated film. Shot in black and white, Frankenweenie was a labor of love for Burton that pays homage to the movie monsters of yesteryear and to his childhood love for those films.
