Marshall Roy Rogers is called into investigate when the owner of a ranch for the orphans of fallen WW2 soldiers is seemingly killed by a pack of wolves. But it turns out a scheming female lawyer (Nana Bryant), who hopes to appropriate the victim’s land, has engineered the scheme with killer dogs and a shady, long-lost nephew who will inherit the property. Rogers is put through a grinder of violent tribulations, helped only by the town’s decent doctor, lovable Cookie Bullfincher (Andy Devine) and his daughter (romantic interest, Lynne Roberts).
“Director William Witney (40 Guns to Apache Pass, Arizona Raiders, Darktown Strutters) effectively directs the melodramatic screenplay by Sloan Nibley. It’s a decent Roy Rogers B-Western, one that’s somewhat more violent than the usual Roger’s oater.” – Dennis Schwartz
