We’ve been dying to bring you a slice of quality Travoltasploitation and now is the time and this is the movie. While The Face With Two Left Feet left us pretty slackjawed with its spot-on Saturday Night Fever impersonation, the Italian filmmakers behind Car Crash have one-upped everyone by getting a real Travolta to star, John’s older brother Joey! The convoluted plot is a checklist of ‘80s goodness: gangsters, girls, stolen jewels, stock car racing and a trip to Acapulco. But that’s not why we’re watching and what we really want Car Crash has in spades: Travolta in skin tight designer jeans and a Members Only jacket, Travolta spouting nonsensical one-liners, and Travolta with that beautiful, glorious windswept hair. Toss in a truckload of noisy chase scenes, impressive miniature photography and a Jan Hammer-lite synthesizer score and we have the perfect makings for an awesome evening of Travolta adoration!
