Michael Parks lights up the screen as the titular character in the film Bus Riley’s Back in Town. Bus, well known and beloved all around town, returns home from the Navy to find that his old flame Laurel (Ann-Margaret) has moved on and married a rich older man. Despite that complication, they rekindle their romance, while Bus also tries to find direction in his life and career, in hopes of becoming a respectable adult. Complications inevitably ensue, and Bus faces some hard choices and has a lot of growing up to do over the course of the movie. In Bus Riley’s Back in Town, Michael Parks makes a legitimate case for himself as a young Hollywood leading man. His good looks rival that of any star of the day, and he more than holds his own onscreen with Ann-Margaret, who shared the screen herself with such Hollywood heavyweights as Elvis, John Wayne and Jack Nicholson.
