Artists and Models (1937)

The head of an advertising agency, played by Jack Benny, is charged with choosing a queen for the yearly Artists and Models Ball in this fast-paced musical comedy directed by Raoul Walsh (High Sierra, They Drive by Night) and co-starring Ida Lupino in an early role. The score includes the Oscar-nominated song, “Whispers in the Dark,” and specialty numbers include comics Ben Blue and Judy Canova, Martha Raye and Louis Armstrong and the singing quartet, the Yacht Club Boys.
