Jackie Brown at 20

Happy anniversary, Jackie Brown! Christmas Day marks twenty years since Quentin Tarantino’s crime caper hit theaters and, in a new piece, Variety looks back at the filmmaker’s valentine to stars Pam Grier and Robert Forster. The leads discuss previous auditions with the director, with Forster talking about how a chance encounter with Tarantino would lead to a career resurgence and Grier suggesting her own alternate ending for the movie. On L.A. Taco, Jared Cowan writes about how Quentin Tarantino and Jackie Brown made the South Bay a star, visiting many of the original locations and talking to the film’s locations team to explore an area of Los Angeles rarely featured on the big screen.
