The World’s End
Edgar Wright’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy comes to an epic close with The World’s End! A group of middle-aged men, led by the developmentally arrested Gary King (Simon Pegg), reunite for the first time since adolescence to recreate a legendary pub crawl they first attempted 20 years ago. The five friends find that their boring hometown of Newton Haven appears not to have changed much on the surface, but the townspeople are acting utterly… robotic. It turns out the fate of the world may rest at the bottom of a beer glass.
“The World’s End not only makes a more than worthy conclusion to the Cornetto trilogy – it stands on its own as one of the sharpest, saddest and wisest comedies of the year.” – Dana Stevens, Slate
“The cast is amazing, from the great duo of Frost and Pegg to the supporting players, many of whom are better known for taking on heavy dramatic fare. The editing, special effects and set design – a joy to experience.” – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun Times
