“Few people alive have have ever seen it. For me, watching it will be the film event of the last two years.” – Quentin Tarantino
Gary Cooper stars in a must-see pre-code western that’s been nearly impossible to see for ninety years! A gold prospector and a politician fight over control of an Alaskan gold mine, culminating with one of filmdom’s most storied fistfights, a spectacular battle between Cooper and William “Stage” Boyd. Rex Beach’s novel was adapted for the screen again in 1942 starring John Wayne, Randolph Scott, and Marlene Dietrich, and in 1955 starring Jeff Chandler, Rory Calhoun, and Anne Baxter.
