The Lords of Flatbush

Tarantino writes for the New Beverly blog

In addition to serving as owner and head programmer for the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles, Quentin Tarantino is now writing about the films he’s selected to showcase on the big screen. In a fresh piece for the New Beverly blog, he writes about Martin Davidson & Stephen Verona’s The Lords of Flatbush, a low budget 1974 indie set in Doo Wop era fifties New York that features early roles for Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler. Tarantino gives context to the times and describes how the film was picked up for release after the success of American Graffiti. Read the whole post here and then see a gorgeous 35mm print of The Lords of Flatbush at the New Bev January 25th & 26th.
