This is major news and I’m curious to see how it plays out.

When I was living in San Francisco there was a small local chain of bakery cafes called La Boulange that were rather popular.

Starbucks bought the chain, incorporated the pastries into Starbucks locations, and closed all the original local bakery cafes.

This is what I am reminded of when I think of a streaming network buying a movie palace.

Does anyone know anything else about what’s going on behind the scenes with this? If the theater isn’t making enough revenue, I wish they’d toss that info to members before selling their souls to Netflix.

I would happily quadruple my annual American Cinematheque membership and cancel Netflix forever to stop this from happening.

That would explain why they keep hosting the premieres for their movies there.
