Election season is in the air.

And the only votes that really matter are for what films are going to be preserved by the National Film Preservation Board!

The rules are simple. Any member of the general public has until September 2nd to nominate up to 50 films. They must be at least 10 years old and a U.S. Production or Co-production.

Here’s a link for where to register (also includes a handy list of films that have already been preserved and nominated in the past): https://www.loc.gov/programs/national-film-preservation-board/film-registry/nominate/

I don’t think past nominations help or hurt a film but the more votes any one film gets in one year, the better the chances. I already sent in my ballot but since I told you guys about it, you gotta reserve at least one of your spots for any of my dream picks:

    – Chappaqua (1966)
    – Out of the Blue (1980)
    – The Last Movie (1971)
    – Buffalo ’66 (1998)
    – The End (1953)
